This Privacy Policy explains how Iwan ("TasTing," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use TasTing (the "Service").

1) Information We Collect

A) Information you provide

• Account info: email address, phone number, display name.
• Profile info: profile photo/avatar, bio (if you choose to add it).
• Content: beverage label images you upload or capture; tasting notes, ratings, tags, and metadata (e.g., date, place, companions); comments and other community interactions.
• Support: information you send when contacting us.

B) Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data: app interactions, log events, crash reports, diagnostics, and performance data.
• IP address and general location derived from it (approximate).
• Device identifiers and technical data as needed for security and reliability.

C) Location data

If you enter a location (e.g., "Pin the place"), we store what you provide. We do not continuously track precise GPS location unless you explicitly enable it in the future (and we would ask for permission).

2) How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide and maintain the Service (authentication, syncing your cellar/logs);
• generate AI results you request (e.g., label recognition, tasting card generation);
• display content based on your visibility settings (Public vs Cellared);
• enable community features (likes, comments, toasts/follows);
• monitor, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
• improve performance, fix bugs, and understand feature usage;
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3) AI Processing

If you use AI features, your images and related inputs may be processed by third-party AI providers (currently including Gemini/Google services). We send only what is necessary to perform the requested feature.

We may route requests to different providers based on availability, performance, or your region.

4) Service Providers (Third Parties)

We use third-party service providers to operate the Service, including:

• Firebase (authentication, database, storage);
• AI providers (e.g., Gemini) for AI features;
• analytics and crash-reporting tools for reliability and product improvement.

These providers process information on our behalf under contractual obligations where applicable.

5) How We Share Information

We may share information:

• with service providers as described above to operate the Service;
• with other users when you choose to make content Public ("on the shelf");
• for legal reasons (e.g., to comply with law, enforce our Terms, protect rights, prevent fraud).

We do not sell your personal information.

6) Public vs Cellared Content

• Public: visible to other users in community feeds and your public profile within the Service.
• Cellared: not publicly visible. We still store and process it to provide the Service, maintain security, and comply with law.

7) People in Photos (Limited)

The Service is not intended for sharing identifiable faces or other clearly identifying personal features (for example: clear face shots, ID cards, name badges, license plates, or other sensitive identifiers). We may remove such content and may restrict accounts that repeatedly violate this rule.

Non-identifying human elements (such as hands, silhouettes, or out-of-focus/background figures) may be permitted, provided they do not reasonably identify a person.

8) Data Retention & Deletion

We retain information as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes.

Account deletion

• If you request account deletion, we will begin the deletion process and delete (or anonymize) your data within 30 days, except where we must retain certain information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Community interactions

• If you delete your account, certain public community interactions (such as comments, likes, and activity counts) may remain visible but will be anonymized (for example, shown as "Deleted user") to preserve conversation integrity and community experience.

9) Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing.

You can control visibility by choosing Public vs Cellared and by editing your profile and posts.

10) Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11) International Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live (for example, where our service providers operate). We take steps intended to protect your information consistent with this Policy.

12) Children (18+)

The Service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date and may provide additional notice through the Service.
